Tuesday 12th August 2025 was such a lovely day! I went out to Hunstanton Beach with my amazing PA, Carron, and our interpreter, Verona. It was hot, the beach was packed, but I really enjoyed myself—a huge thanks to them for taking me there.
I was in my wheelchair for the day because it was a long walk, and having the use of the wheelchair made things much easier. Normally I walk with my oxygen, but today I didn’t need to. The wheelchair saved a lot of hassle and meant I could just enjoy the day.
“Before anyone asks why? I was in a wheelchair today because it is a long walk, also so hopefully I wouldn't have to use my oxygen. Normally I walk with my oxygen but today the wheelchair was an easier alternative becasue of the distance. It saved a lot of hassle with carrying my oxygen."

The highlight of the day was the fair—I won two prizes! The first activity was tricky and took me five long minutes—my back was killing me! Ha ha! But the second one was much quicker, so I ended up winning two prizes. It was such fun!

The food at the beach was amazing—absolutely delicious. And surprisingly, the seagulls didn’t try to steal our food, and we were left alone to enjoy it. Verona treated us all to a warm, massive doughnut, which we all enjoyed.
This day out felt really special to me. About a year ago, I was very poorly and spent weeks in hospital. Before and after that, I was ill for months and felt trapped at home. Being able to get out again, enjoy the sunshine, win prizes, and share laughs reminded me how important it is to live life to the fullest. My illness has made me realise that life really is too short—I want to enjoy myself, even if that means sometimes using a wheelchair and carrying my oxygen around.
Hunstanton Beach is beautiful, the food is delicious, and it’s such a fun place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone—I can’t wait to see where my next adventure takes me!

Carron’s Perspective:
Planning a day out with our clients is always rewarding, but this day was truly special. Seeing our client’s excitement, from winning games at the fair to enjoying every moment at the beach, reminded me why I do what I do.
The weather was hot, and the beach was packed, but with a little planning, we were able to make the day smooth and enjoyable. Using the wheelchair for longer walks made a huge difference, allowing my client to enjoy the day without fatigue or stress and especially in the heat which we are not used to. The laughter, smiles, and sheer joy of winning prizes were unforgettable.
