Carron's Bio

My name is Carron Huggett. I live in Milton Keynes.  I am Deaf and use speech and

British Sign Language.

I am the founder and Head of Carron PA Support.

I have intensive experience and have worked as a  freelance Personal Assistant/Support

Worker/Communication Support Guide since 2011.  I love my role and like giving back to the Deaf community and supporting people like myself to achieve their potential.  This job is very rewarding even on the most stressful days.  I am thorough and conscientious and always aim high and strive for the best results.

In my spare time I volunteer for Milton Keynes Deaf Community. Part of my role is to organise  fun activities and run the monthly coffee club.

I enjoy swimming, reading, cross-stitching, baking, walking my two crazy dogs and spending quality time with my family.

Even though I am deaf, I do love music as my dad was in a band and I grew up with him playing the guitar around the home.  My favourite band is Take That!

I am an experienced  Senior Support Worker and Education Support Worker. I have been a

Senior Support Worker since 2014 and an Education Support Worker since 2021.

I have two roles:  here at Carron PA Support as a Support Worker and also at Sense supporting blind clients. I have experience  guiding and communicating with Deafblind clients.

I love helping Deaf people, both young adults and older adults and empowering them to take part in art and  craft activities which enable them to feel calm.

I love travelling with my deaf clients as it enhances their experience.

I love motorsport! I took part in go-karting. I plan to take up drifting on four wheels, possibly setting up a group for Deaf people.  too.

Julie's Bio

My name is Julie.

I'm hearing and a successful mum of three teenagers.

I grew up with deaf school friends from the age of 5 and started learning BSL around the age of 15. I studied linguistics and deaf studies at university and then went on to qualify as a mainstream teacher returning later to study and qualify as a Teacher of the Deaf. At the start of my career, I worked with autistic children and adults,    older people in nursing homes, people with mental health problems and supported d/Deaf,  Deafblind people as a Communication Support Worker (CSW) and Learning and teaching support roles.  I loved teaching the best and taught Deaf students from pre schoolers and their families up to college age students in the South of England in different schools,  but then I left my career to bring up  my family.

My husband, family and I live near Tring, and we share our house with our rescue cat and adopted dog.  I volunteer for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf training their puppies. I have done this for over 10 years and have helped over 20 puppies be successful and matched with an owner.  At the moment I have a 6-month-old puppy who I am training to socialise and teach the basic rules and manners before we go on to learning sound alerts and support work.

I like the outdoors, walking, camping and exploring.  I love swimming and listening to 'chick flick' /  romantic novels and story books.

I feel very lucky now to be given the opportunity to be welcomed to my new support role. I am cherishing the chance to be a advocate and facilitate Deaf people to live more fulfilling times and join in the Deaf community locally.
